School Information

Attendance

Attend school every day unless you are ill or are otherwise excused. Let the office know by phone call or note about all absences.

Arrival

Roger Sherman Elementary School begins at 8:55 a.m. Students should begin arriving at school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. unless he or she is participating in a planned activity.

Dismissal

When school dismisses - Walkers in Grades 1 and 2 exit through the Kindergarten doors to the sidewalk at the back of the school.
Walkers in grades 3, 4, and 5 exit through the stairwell by the Media Center toward the back of the school.

Walkers who are not picked up by parents will be brought into the office.

Parents who need to pick up children before dismissal should come to the office, sign-out their child, and wait for their child to be called.

If your bus student is going to be dismissed as a walker please make sure you notify your child’s teacher or the office.

Emergency

The notice of delays, or cancellations, will be given as early as possible via the television and radio stations:

Channels 3, 8, and 30

WTIC (1080 AM and 96.5 FM), WRYM (840 AM) Spanish Station,

WKCI (101.3 FM), WELI (960 AM), WKSS (95.70FM), WWYZ (92.5 FM),
